Handyman

Description

Handyman or handyperson is a skilled individual who performs various tasks at client homes at a fee. Some of the tasks are maintenance work, installations, trade skills, repairs, light electric and plumbing jobs. These tasks are sometimes referred as “fix- ups tasks” or “odd jobs”. Their services include:

Types of Handyman

1. Plumber

   The plumber has trade skills in drainage, plumbing, sewage and drinking water systems maintenance and installation. A professional plumber requires the handy man be licensed and needed interest, values and skills to perform tasks.

2. Mason

   This is the handyman whose work is to build or repair homes using stones and bricks.

3. Electrician

   The electrician installs, operates, repairs and maintains home’s electrical systems. Most electricians are service electricians, whose work is to provide electricity upgrades, troubleshooting, wiring issues and repairs.

4. General contractor

   The general contractor is assigned tasks by the client, on advice by the engineer or architect. They oversee day to day tasks carried out on the construction site and also manage trades and vendors.

5. Carpenter

   Carpenters use wood to make items such as bridges, houses and furniture. Most carpenters go through the following two training divisions:

   • Cabinet making
   • Construction carpentry
      
6. Lawn Maintenance Technician

   The person is responsible in maintaining and cutting the grass and attending the flowers around the house.

7. Cleaner

   Is a domestic worker who attends house cleaning chores at a fee. They have years of experience in their areas of specialization.

8. House painter/painting contractor/professional painter

   Professional painters are efficient, fast and possess mastered techniques that add value to the painted surface.
